What Have We Achieved?

In 2000 we organised a “Young Women’s Awareness Day” where 200 women attended an information day and heard a wide range of guest speakers share their knowledge on topics ranging from fertility issues and chemical induced early menopause to sexuality, lymphoedema and body image.

·          We have participated in “The Relay for Life” annual 24 hour team event organised by the Cancer Council Victoria.

·         Some of us are members of “Dragons Abreast”. Dragon boat paddlers who have all experienced breast cancer competing in teams up to an international standard.

·         We have consumer representatives within the group who sit on a number of projects relating to the issues that are important to young women who have experienced breast cancer.

·         We are a member group of Breast Cancer Network Australia and also have strong ties to the Breast Cancer Action Group Victoria.

·         We regularly participate in surveys and research projects to help improve issues of concern to young women.

·         In 2002 we organised a Mini Auction and Awareness day to help raise awareness within the community of the needs of younger women.
